#NextBigThing: Call of the Thunderbird is on Taboo's Center Stage

What is a blog hop? Basically, it’s a way for readers to discover authors new to them. I hope you'll find new-to-you authors whose works you enjoy. On this stop on the blog hop, you'll find a bit of information on me and one of my books and links to five other authors you can explore!

Many thanks to fellow author, Amber Lea Easton, for inviting me to participate in this event. Even though at this point, most of my author friends have already been tagged to do this, I didn't want to miss out on a chance to participate. One of my alter egos was able to share one of her WIPs several months ago. Now thanks to Amber, I get to have a turn! You can click the following links to learn more about Amber and her books.

In this blog hop, my fellow authors and I, in our respective blogs, have answered ten questions about our current book or work-in-progress (giving you a sneak peek). We've also included some behind-the-scenes information about how and why we write what we write--the characters, inspirations, plotting and other choices we make. I hope you enjoy it!

Please feel free to comment and share your thoughts and questions. Here is my Next Big Thing!

1: What is the working title of your book?
Call of the Thunderbird (Fearless Love 1)

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?
Thanks to another author friend Robin Badillo writing as Tyler Robbins, I discovered that I love love love M/M erotic romances. From Tyler's book Beyond Honor, I discovered another author who grabbed my attention with her Marine love stories. Kendall McKenna and her Brother's In Arms inspired my own idea of two former Army Rangers who find love with each other after one nearly dies saving the other. Oh, did I forget to mention that the one who nearly died was an eagle shifter? LOL

3: What genre does your book come under?
M/M Erotic contemporary paranormal romance. Whew! That's a mouthful!

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Adam Beach is the actor I see in my head as veterinarian Abraham (Abe). Originally I had thought his name should be Adam like the actor, but Abe came to me more often when I planned more of the story, so Abe it is. I've not come up with last names yet.

For the eagle shifter and Abe's protector and the Warrior who would sweep him off his feet, I saw the actor Benjamin Bratt as Ethan. He is the one who is most confident in his sexuality, but doesn't act on it until Abe is ready to see it and return his feelings.

I did a post about this when I first started The House of Taboo. You can read it HERE. Notice that back then, I was still calling Abe by the other name. LOL!

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Ugh! I am so NOT good at writing a synopsis let alone a short one. One sentence? hmmmmm

Denying their feelings for each other for far too long, will the awakening of a Native American legend bring these two former Army Rangers together at last, or forever tear them apart?

6: Is your book self-published, published by an independent publisher, or represented by an agency?
I'm not sure about this one yet. I may still submit it to Siren for consideration, but then again, I may go the self publishing route and do it as my first project with Sassy Vixen.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It's still a work in progress

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Well, besides the books I mentioned earlier with the military aspect, I guess it would compare to the shifter books out there today. I haven't read a lot of them myself...yet.

9: Who or what inspired you to write this book?
Tyler Robbins and Kendall McKenna. I love these ladies!

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
I'm trying to incorporate my home state of Michigan as well as California where I live now. I've had some personal experience living way up in Northern California near a few Indian tribes. I've had a fascination with Native American culture and folklore since I was very young. It's been a pleasure to incorporate that love into this book and hopefully an entire series.

The idea of a fearless love is to me very romantic. To love someone with your entire heart and soul is all consuming and one of the best feelings in the world. I have that kind of love with my husband and it's the kind of love I want for all of my characters.

Below you will find authors who will be joining me virtually, via blog, next Wednesday.  Now since this is the second time around for this hop for many of my author friends, I've not been able to find anyone who is able to participate or at least able to commit to participating at this time. So I've tagged my alter egos Tammy Dennings Maggy and Stephanie Ryan. They will post their Next Big Things next week and hopefully by then, one or both of them will have someone to tag. Happy Writing and Reading!
